Junior Consultant (MSP)
One of the Ecorys’ divisions is the Macro and Sector Policies (MSP) Division, which offers consulting services in, amongst others macroeconomics, programme aid, public finance management, international trade, competitiveness, investment promotion, SME and enterprise policy, competition policy and regulation, programme monitoring and evaluation, and sustainable energy and climate change.
For our Competence Areas Trade & Industry and Competition Policy and Regulation we wish to get in touch with candidates for the position of:
Junior Consultant
Workplace environment
The Competence Area Trade, Industry & Competitiveness provides consulting services in foreign investment, international trade and regional integration, competitiveness and SME development and enterprise policy and cost-benefit analyses. Its clients include governments, international organisations and industry. Projects are undertaken throughout the world and particularly in developing and emerging economies.
The Competence Area Competition Policy and Regulation provides economic analyses on the performance of markets. Our studies often pertain to regulated sectors, such as energy, postal services, and telecommunications. We are actively involved in policy advice to governments. Our main clients are the Dutch ministries, competition authorities, the European Commission and the private sector.
Position
The junior consultant is expected to carry out applied economic research and consultancy in the fields of international trade, competitiveness, competition policy and regulation. The consultant will contribute to the development of new business opportunities. The consultant will develop and maintain a network of experts, partners and clients, and will collaborate with colleagues throughout the ECORYS Group where relevant.
The position will be based in Rotterdam but there are considerable opportunities to work on international projects in- and outside the EU.
Qualifications
- a good understanding of relevant policy and research issues
- strong analytical skills both quantitative and qualitative
- well developed presentation skills
- fluency in Dutch and in English, other languages are an advantage
- academic background, preferably in economics or post-graduate studies
- some working experience in economic research, policy analysis and/or consulting, work experience outside the EU would be an advantage
- willingness to travel
